11. augusti pärastlõunal toimus vestlusring Gerry Morita, Patrick Arès-Pilon, Shawn Pinchbeck ja Gerhard Locki vahel Heltermaal praami oodates lõppenud festivali teemadel.

Gerhard: Kuidas teile festival meeldis?

Gerry: Minu meelest toimis festival kenasti. Osalejad olid väga innukad. Tundub, et tegemist on väga hea võimalusega nii noorte ja keskkooli- kui ka ülikooli tasemel tantsijatele kohtuda suvel ja teha koos tööd. Mulle meeldis, kui palju erinevaid töötubasid pakuti. Õpetamise maht oli uskumatult kõrge. Tajusin palju sõbramehelikkus ja inimlikku vaimu erinevatelt paikadelt Hiiumaale tulnud tantsijate vahel. Sellised mõtted siis :)   

Gerhard: Kuidas tundusid õhtused etendused? 

Gerry: Ka siin võib välja tuua, et näidatu oli väga erinev, mulle tõesti meeldisid lapsed, kes täna esinesid kiriku varemete juures, neis oli nii palju enthusiasm ja loomingulisust. Ma nägin, et nende kunstiline panus oli väga loomingulisel tasemel. Minu meelest need väikesed-väikesed lapsed on kõige inspireerivamad tantsijad, sest nad tuletasid mulle meelde, miks ma tantsin :)

August 11th afternoon, while waiting the ferry in Heltermaa, Gerry Morita, Patrick Arès-Pilon, Shawn Pinchbeck and Gerhard Lock had a little talk about the festival.

Gerhard: How did you like the festival?

Gerry: I think the festival came together very nicely. There is a lot of eagerness on the part of the students. It looked like a very good opportunity for the very young dancers and high school students and new university graduates to get together in summer and share their work. I enjoyed the variety of classes offered. The amount of teaching was incredibly high. There was a lot of camaraderie grassroots humanity spirits with dancers from different places reaching beautiful Hiiumaa. Thats what I thought :)

Gerhard: What do you think of the evening performances?

Gerry: Again, there was a variety of levels being shown, I really enjoyed the kids today outside by the church, they have shown so much enthusiasm and creativity. I can see their own artistic input at a very creative level. I think for me those little-little kids are the most inspiring dancers because it reminds me about why I do dance :)

An introduction to the performance “Visual Splice” (2013), Friday, August 9, 2013, 20.30 in Käina Huvi- ja Kultuurikeskus, compiled by Gerhard Lock (musicologist, composer, music critic). Read this text also on the HTF blog pages.

Since its founding in 2010 by young choreographers from the Tallinn University Department of Choreography, the Hiiumaa Dance Festival (HTF) is known for its special atmosphere and a broad spectrum of courses, events and performances featuring both young choreographers and recognized professionals. Having collaborated with choreographers and dancers like Florent Hamon (France) in 2010, Cid Pearlman, David King and Alexis Steeves (USA) in 2011 and 2012, also 2013 an internationally renowned dancer and choreographer, Gerry Morita (Canada), is among the course teachers. This year’s festival features a performance by the Canadian company Mile Zero Dance with scenographer Patrick Arès-Pilon and Tallinn-based Canadian composer Shawn Pinchbeck.

Interaktiivsus, rituaalsus ja “live aspekt” liikumapaneva jõuna erakordsel valdkondade vahelisel vahetu kogemuse sündmusel Hiiumaa Tantsufestivalil 2013

2010. aastal Tallinna Ülikooli koreograafia osakonna noorte koreograafide asutatud Hiiumaa Tantsufestival (HTF) on tuntud oma erilise atmosfääri ning samaväärselt noori ja professionaale haaravate kursuste, sündmuste ja etenduste laia spektri poolest. Festival tegi algusest peale koostööd rahvusvaheliste koreograafide ja tantsijatega nagu Florent Hamon (Prantsusmaa, 2010), Cid Pearlman, David King and Alexis Steeves (USA, 2011 ja 2012) ning ka 2013 on kursuste juhendajate hulgas rahvusvaheline koreograaf ja tantsija Gerry Morita (Kanada). Samuti toimub rahvusvahelise tantsukompanii Mile Zero Dance etendus koostöös stsenograaf Patrick Arès-Piloni ja Tallinnas elava kanada helilooja Shawn Pinchbeckiga.

Hiiumaa TantsuFestival 2013

Eesti Muusikaarvustaja ja tänavune Hiiumaa Tantsufestival (HTF2013), mis toimub 5.-11. augustil Käinas, teevad koostööd. Eesti Muusikaarvustaja peab HTF festivali blogi ja Muusikaarvustaja avaldab arvustusi.
